Features of this remodel include quarter sawn oak cabinets, under-cabinet lighting, Icynene Insulation and 3 ¼” white oak wood flooring and a new banister around an open stair case. A wall between the kitchen and living room was removed and beverage bar was added to make entertaining guests a pleasure. We completely renovated the main floor living spaces and kitchen and added a large in-law living quarters. Flooring in the addition was stained-concrete and warmed by a radiant heat system. The kitchen was turned into a modern piece of artwork where the homeowner’s unique art pieces could be displayed. Visually interesting changes were made to existing ceilings; in the living room, several small insets were made and a vault with delicate lighting was added above a walk-way area. Cabinets from the existing kitchen were carefully removed and then re-used in the in-law living quarters. |

Handicap accessibility was achieved by installing a 3’6” front door, stamped-concrete ramp access, open floor plan and handicap accessible bathrooms. A panoramic view of the lake was created by adding 935 square feet to the back side of the house and going from 1 patio door to 6 large picture windows and 2 patio doors. To open up the existing house into the addition, a load-bearing wall had to be removed on the main floor and supporting columns installed strategically as to not interfere with the flow from the existing to the new. Too many updates to list were made throughout the main floor, so make sure to look at the pictures for the full story. But major changes included a completely new kitchen with cherry cabinets and granite countertops. Cabinets carefully removed from the old kitchen were reused in a laundry studio. A custom cedar three-season room was constructed for the owner’s birds. Exterior improvements include reconstructing the front porch, stamped concrete walks, stoop and patio and new sprinklers, landscaping and sod. |
