Mike, a third-generation builder, grew up building and remodeling houses with his father in the Kearney, NE area. In December 1998, he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in Civil Engineering. Although he enjoyed his internship with Union Pacific, he knew his heart was with the home building industry.

 

Beyond performing the day-to-day operations of running Excite!, he is an advocate for the building industry and best-practices within the industry. He speaks to high school and college students, provides project tours at the request of course instructors and assists students with class projects by providing real-life examples.

 

Mike is the 2009 President for the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL).  He also serves on the Planning Commission for the Village of Greenwood and is the Parliamentarian and a board member for the Nebraska State Home Builders Association.

 

When not giving back to the industry, he enjoys spending time with his wife Danelle and their two children. When a rare opportunity presents itself, he also enjoys hunting.
